Our Dojo

The Palm Court Karate Centre was officially established in 1992 by Mario Sequeira.
We recently moved to a state of the art dojo built in Constantia Kloof. It is a traditional dojo solely designed for the practice of Karate. We offer the best in facilities, equipment, and the highest standard of tuition in traditional Karate-Do.

About OGKK Gauteng

Okinawan Goju-Ryu Kyu Kai is based in Gauteng and practices traditional Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate-Do. The young and dynamic group consists of affiliated dojos in Gauteng, South Africa.

Under the guidance of Sensei Mario Sequeira, our instructors teach hundreds of students every week. We have also produced many black belt students, several of whom have received second and third dan black belts.

We are affiliated to Okinawan Goju-Ryu KyuKai, Karate South Africa, Gauteng Karate, and African Goju-Ryu Karate Federation (AGKF).

How our gradings work

You have all seen the white outfits and the various coloured belts but if you are new to Karate, here’s a description of how it all works.

Dojo etiquette

All students must know and understand Dojo etiquette, as these are important rules for behaviour at the Palm Court Karate Dojo.

Self Defence Courses

The Self Defence courses are far less talk and a whole lot more do! That means it’s down and dirty, interactive, participative and great fun.
